Marvellous. Much appreciated living here in the UK. Surely this is contravening some broadcasting regulations?

Depends what it broadcasts. It did broadcast the GAA match which I think RTE does not hold the broadcast rights for.

First thing that came into my head when I read your post was, “Great, I’ll be able to watch the GAA without leaving the comfort of my home.”

That stream was ment to be only online for the funeral of Charles Haughey. Now that it’s been publicised , it ill probly be pulled. They’ll cop on due to the high number people using it.
They clearly forgot to pull it down after the funeral. It happens all the time with american Tv stations streams and most recently with the BBC World stream.

The reason teh RTE stream was available is that we were streaming Charles Haughey’s funeral on Friday the 16th and the encoder was not shutdown until Sunday or Monday.
