It was abusive and un-called for. Richard has a right to say what he likes and be still treated in a civil manner. Now I know we all get angry at posts which is a shame (I do it a lot) but if we do and send abusive signed emails from an organisation with an interest in the topic. Well we can't be too put out when we are revealed.

(i) Richard has a habit of making provocative posts using inflammatory language. Take a look at his recent habit of using the "peasant" label on parts of Irish culture that don't meet his refined tastes. I think that what Ó hAodha said wasn't the language that I would have used, but it didn't just appear uncalled-for out of the ether, either.

(ii) I think nearly all Internet users would have an expectation of confidentiality in their emails. Wouldn't you?

(iii) The 'theory' that Ultan sent it from Údaras in order to try to intimidate Richard is completely without evidence to back it up.

(iv) The Sindo thought it amusing, I'm sure. They're a rag.

Not really EWI doesn't really bother me to tell you the truth.

But I have to wonder why you asked my opinion on this. You rarely ever comment on my blog.

But if you want my opinion Richard was wrong to post the email and did it to make a point about how procative the post was and how it offended people in a state body. Indeed I wonder did it have one of those disclosurer signatures you get on emails now a days

But the guy sent it from the Urdaras email address on purpose to put the weight of said organisation behind the email (If you doubt it this guy is a summer temp do you think he doesn't have a hotmail or gmail address to send this from?). It was abusive and un-called for. Richard has a right to say what he likes and be still treated in a civil manner. Now I know we all get angry at posts which is a shame (I do it a lot) but if we do and send abusive signed emails from an organisation with an interest in the topic.
Great, more oxegen for his incomprehensible rant.

A correction I think it's worth pointing out; from what I've been told Waghorne was the one that rang Udaras; he brought it to their attention.
