Footage of the execution of Saddam has emerged on the internet. I am not entirely sure should I post this as it is the footage of a man being killed. But I think people should be able to see it. To often we can complacent in being anti the death penalty and not releasing the brutality that it really is even when it is a man as brutal as this. I believe it is wrong to kill him. In prison he was captured, a symbol of defeat, dead he is a martyr.

I think I’m going to avoid this part of the page for a while. This is horrific. I didn’t think I’d have such a strong reaction to the killing of such an evil person, but it made me want to vomit and cry because a real human being dies on the screen in front of me. I was even angry at myself for looking. How can anyone find satisfaction in this, or call it justice? It’s as cruel as the acts Hussein committed himself. The death penalty lowers society to the level of a barbaric dictator such as Hussein.

Didn’t watch, won’t watch it.
Watching the taking of another’s life, even Evil Saddam’s erodes a bit of our humanity.
The Nazi monsters at Nuremburg were hung without being filmed or taunted as they were brought to the death.
Saddam should have spent the rest of his life rotting in prison.

How could they handle it like that? Knowing full well it would end up on the net?
