Empire Movie Magazine, or as I like to call it ‘My Movie Bible’ has launched a blog within the last month. The magazines contributor’s post on a mixture of movie and media related topics, giving time to ideas and topics I wish I had more time to develop here. Most recently they have written on the sorry fate of many quality TV series. The site accompanying the magazine http://www.empireonline.com/ is my first choice for movie news.

Attack of the Clones. 5 Stars.
5 stars means “Classic” on the Empire scale. The day Empire gave “Attack of the Clones” 5 stars was the day it lost any chance of credibly being described as a “Movie Bible”.
And to top it all they had the audacity to re-review it a few years later, admitting their error, and gave it only 3 stars (”Good” on the Empire Scale).
So that’s twice now that they’ve reviewed that movie and they still haven’t given it an accurate rating.
Bible? Yeah right.

Every movie reviewer makes a mistake once in a while, but for the most part ‘Empire’ is a good movie magazine. I was addicted to it when I was younger but now I only buy it once in a while. I’m looking forward to checking out their blog now.

I agree, Betty the Sheep, that any movie reviewer can make a mistake. However, I think we can also all agree that there are mistakes and then there are mistakes. The sheer scale of the mistake here boggles the mind.
If Empire is to have a reputation of something close to a “movie bible” then giving a movie like Attack of the Clones 5 stars is not really on (unless you’re using something like a 20 or 30 star system).
5 Stars out of 5 is totally and galatically off. Empire is supposed to be a dedicated magazine to movies. I.e. knows something about movies.
