The Israeli Ambassador to the UK, on visiting a Beatles museum in Liverpool handed a letter of apology to the sister of John Lennon for the decision of an Israeli Education Committee to ban a performance by the foursome in Israel in 1965. The decision was made seemingly due to budgetary concerns and also fears the Beatles music would corrupt the minds of Israeli youth. The surviving Beatles are expected to receive similar letters in the coming days. The UK Independent suggests McCartney and Starr may now be involved in the celebrations to mark the 60th anniversary of the foundation of the State of Israel this May. Such a momentous occasion will of course be marked here at the Dossing Times also.
