CK’s Party Piece

So last weekend was pretty depraved - I along with 10 other guys set about drinking Berlin dry of its mighty fine beers, as well as soaking up some of the city’s rich history. Now there is a more in depth post coming at some stage as to the depths to which the weekend sunk and I’m currently going through a Cold War/Stasi fascination, with the brief taster I got between the drinking binges leaving me fascinated with the period. The last night of the trip in our wisdom with a flight departing at 9 the next morning we felt sleep was an unnecessary obstacle and the night progressed to a point where I drank two shots of tabasco and can safely state my mouth have never known anything less pleasant. After inhaling as much of the night air of Berlin to relieve my pain, my fellow travellers decided that I should sing a song before our departure for the airport. Panic washed over me. I had recently been made aware of my less than dulcit tones via people recording me at a karaoke bar and as I raced through the songs I could possibly sing, I was confronted with one of my greatest weaknesses, that I know the words to so few songs from beginning to end. Now this wasn’t part of an ongoing sing song, it was a random lets make CK sing and stand around to entertain ourselves moment. Anyway, a song that I’ve always been aware of and one far from well known popped into my head and somehow I made it through with dignity relatively intact and at last something I can call a party piece. Here Eric Clapton does a job almost as good as mine!
