Some beautifully recreated shots from a recent issue of Vanity Fair with modern day movie stars in shots from classic Hitchcock movies. I have chosen 4 of my favourites - the remainder can be found here.
First up this years Best Actress Oscar winner Marion Cotillard takes a somewhat a somewhat infamous shower, the shot by shot recreation a perfect ode to the style in which is Hitchcock is said to have planned the sequence.
Seth Rogen does Cary Grant - brilliant!
A woman who could potentially lay claim to evoking the class of Grace Kelly, Charlize Theron moments from being attacked in Dial M for Murder before events take a twist. These few minutes in film are amongst the most brilliantly constructed I have ever seen.
Stars set to bring Iron Man and Pepper Potts to the big screen this summer, Robert Downey Jnr. and Gwyneth Paltrow perfectly capture the glossy sheen of ‘To Catch a Thief’. Far from Hitchcock’s best the film is still, a masterclass in style, Cary Grant and Grace Kelly representing a time when movie stars were just that.

Who would have thought the same actor could play both Charlie Chaplin and Cary Grant?

Hello! These are pretty cool; I hadn’t seen them before. Still, if I had my way nobody would tamper with Hitchcock’s work! Saying that I’ve always thought it would be great to play Tippi Hedren’s character in The Birds. And now they’re remaking it with Naomi Watts *sigh! I just hope that it’s better than the remake of Psycho which was basically remade shot for shot except with unsuitable actors in the roles.
