Listening to Willie O’Dea on RTE seems that they are blaming the resignation on the fact that the Mahon Tribunal is distracting the government from operating successfully and thus for the benefit of the country he resigned. Interesting way of putting it playing the Martyr card.

Certainly seems that this might not be over and that the media may certainly be a avenue of attack for Fianna Fail. Depending on you view that could be tactics or true. A mate of mine takes the latter view.

Its like in America, if you put “Of course I support our troops” before a statement you can say anything you want about the war here, put “I dont want to preempt the tribunals conclusions but” and you can say what you want about Ahern trial by media thats all this tribunal process is. its a disgrace Guilty til proven innocent

This is not over.
