I like the time during which you get to watch movie trailers (Funny Games), pick up a book you had forgotten you were reading (Long Way Down) and generally do more than wait for Tuesday morning to come having seen out the first day of the week. So often proper things need doing or you have plans that involve interaction or an ensuing hangover - I like the evenings like this one where I see it out with a post of triviality and appreciation of small graces.

First up I discovered the wonder of the corriander seed - why did no one tell me about this wonderous little bullet of flavour? My housemates are painting the kitchen so that various jars and condiments are out of the way of paint spatter and amongst them I spot this unsuspecting tub of seeds. Some pounding of seeds and my pork chops are given a great hit of refreshing citrus flavour.

I’m looking to download the roadrunner going ‘mheep, mheep’ as my text message tone. Failing on this front so far, the wikipedia page on the long history of the road runner and Wild E Coyote show nevertheless, makes great reading. To think there is even history associated with the famous sound the bird makes for some interesting stuff.

I downloaded Digsby, seemingly the No. 1 IM tool around at the moment which consolidates your social networking and email profiles. This was potentially a waste of time as I use gmail chat to talk to a sum total of 4 people and I despise my Facebook profile because of those stupid profile tests.

Watched an episode of Gavin and Stacey - surely one of the best kept secrets on TV at the moment.
Thinking of getting ‘The Wire’ - I will soon be able to answer if this is the greatest TV show we’ve never heard of.
