Today, April 22nd is Earth Day, yet another green event that just can’t see to catch the attention of the masses. Coverage by and large has negative connotations - ongoing irreparable damage seems to be the order of the day. This Washington Post article deconstructs any benefits associated with a food to oil programme sanctioned by the US - a programme ultimately of so little benefit it was used to produce only 1% of US fuel supplies and has lead to an increase in carbon emissions.
