Interesting News. The Scottish are planning on making a bid for Euro 2012 because the preparations for the tournament in Poland and Ukraine are not going well. Would worth Ireland putting a joint bid in with them? We could offer Croke Park and Landsdown road. With the 60,000 seat Stadium planned Cork and maybe the Gaelic Grounds (35,000 seats + what ever temporary terrace seating could provide) in Limerick. Of course this has massive problems the main one being the Euro Championships held during the middle of the GAA Championship. Maybe have games in the GAA stadiums during the week with games at weekends in Landsdown and Scotland. Unlikely to happen but one can dream

Originally there was a joint bid on the cards, but since the current hosts have come under question it has nly been touted for Scotland.
There si defintiely room for Ireland to co-host (at least we’d qualify!) as Scotland have only four of the required eight stadia at present.
From an Irish perspective it would unfortunately be a Dubln only event. Croker and Landsdowne. Therte’s no way a 60,000 seater would be built in time in Cork and I can’t see any other Irish venue passing the Uefa standard.
