I tried this recipe for sweet and sour sauce on Tuesday night and despite frowns at the prospect of pineapple appearing, a blender meant they were none the wiser and asked for seconds. I didnt follow the instructions of letting the sauce thicken of its own accord first before adding to the dish, and I feel in hindsight now I should have so as to let the flavours intensify before adding to the stir fried meat and veg. Additionally I threw in some tomato sauce to the sauce ingredients to give it a more familiar red hue.
